Lamborghini Huracan LP610-4 Avio 2016

A bit of a limited edition today with this Lamborghini Huracan Avio presented in Blu Grifo. I obviously did not spot it on the street but at the brand new Lamborghini dealership in Manchester. The Avio serie is limited to only 250 cars and is inspired by fighter jets. The Huracan has a 5.2 V10 which produces 602bhp. 0-62 takes 3.2 seconds and the top speed is 201mph or 323km/h. The Avio Huracan is available in 5 different liveries and having seen a few others, they all look pretty good!

BMW X6M 2016

A bit of a beast today with this BMW X6M. I am not a big fan of SUVs but I must admit that this one looks particularly sporty and aggressive. Under the bonnet, you get a 4.4 V8 engine with 572bhp. This means 0-62 in just 4.2 seconds and of course a limited top speed of 155mph or 250km/h, even if some reckon it could achieve around 300km/h (186mph) without the limiter.

Honda Civic Type-R 2016

A bit of an extravagant boy-racer car today with the brand-new Honda Civic GT Type-R. Huge spoiler at the back, quad-exhausts, aero body-kit and specific rims, you cannot really miss it. What is the new Type-R about? 2.0 four-cylinder VTEC turbo engine which produces 306bhp and catapults the Civic from 0-62 in 5.7 seconds and up to 167mph or 269km/h. Definitely hot-hatch race-ready!

Range Rover Overfinch 2016

The latest Ranger Rover prepared by Overfinch, spotted in Altrincham a couple of weeks ago. This is the 4.4 SDV8 engine which produces 339bhp. 0-62 takes this big 4x4 6.5 seconds with a top speed of 135mph or 217km/h. As usual, Overfinch seems to have focused on the cosmetic appearance of the car more than on the mechanical components.

Mercedes C63S AMG Coupé 2016

The brand new Mercedes C63S AMG Coupé today. Spotted in Mercedes Stockport a couple of weeks ago. It has a 4.0 V8 Biturbo engine with 503bhp. 0-62 in 3.9 seconds and a top speed limited as usual to 155mph or 250km/h.

Dodge Challenger 2012

A bit of American muscle today with this Dodge Challenger in orange with huge wheels. I forgot to check the size of these but I'd definitely say 20 inches minimum! I spotted it a couple of weeks ago, nicely parked at the Trafford Centre! I cannot really work out what model this one is but I reckon it is the standard 3.6 V6 engine with 305bhp as the 6.4 Hemi V8 tends to have the SRT-8 badge on the front grill. So if it is the V6, we are looking at a 0-62 in about 5 seconds and a top speed of 170mph or 274km/h.

Mazda 3 MPS 2011

First Mazda on the blog and I know many of you out there will be thinking what on earth is a Mazda doing on a blog about dream cars? Well this Mazda is a bit more interesting than most of the other ones on the road as it is an MPS version of the Mazda 3. And what does that mean? The MPS badge is to a Mazda what the ST badge is to a Ford or the Gti to a Golf. Yes, it is the sporty version of the standard car. Now you do not really see many MPS cars around. The more recent versions are easy to spot because of the big scoop on the bonnet, the spoiler and the two exhaust tips at the back, not to mention bumpers and side skirts. So what is under the bonnet? It is a 2.3 four-cylinder engine which produces 256bhp so it is bound to be a pretty fast hot-hatch. 0-62mph take 6.1 seconds and the top speed is limited to 155mph or 250km/h, so not that bad for a Mazda!

Lamborghini Gallardo 2009

After the Aventador SV of a few posts ago, another Lambo today with this great looking Gallardo fully blacked out and with the extra spoiler at the back. I spotted it at the same place (Deansgate, Manchester) and on the same day as the SV previously mentioned. The Gallardo has a 5.2l V10, with 560bhp, a top speed of 202mph (325km/h) and a 0 to 62 in 3.7 seconds.

Ferrari 458 2012

After the Speciale and Speciale Aperta posted recently, I came across a really nice 458 in Manchester not long ago. I must say I particularly like the colour combination. Even if Rosso Corsa isn't my favourite on a Ferrari (I do like the Grigio Titania or any kind of dark blue!), with the Nero roof, I think it works really well. The 458 has the Ferrari 4.5 V8 engine, with 570bhp. 0-62 mph takes 3.4 seconds and the top speed is 202mph or 325km/h.
Just wondering what happened to its front number plate...!

Range Rover Sport SVR 2015

I know lots of you out there enjoy tuned up Range Rovers, being by Overfinch, Cosworth, Onyx, Kahn or other companies. Today, it is the in-house tuning with the Range Rover Sport SVR. The SVR is the ultimate sporty version of the SUV. It is powered by a 5.0 V8 engine which produces 550bhp. Despite weighing way over 2 tons, the SVR is capable of a 0-62mph in just 4.5 seconds and a top speed of 162mph or 261km/h. Rather impressive. I do not have a picture to illustrate it, but I find the interior in general and the sport seats in particular rather spectacular (despite the fact I am still not a SUV fan) I also think this blue paint suits the car to perfection.

Lotus Elise 2002

Not a supercar today, just a really nice little two-seater, the Lotus Elise in a deep red colour, spotted on the car-park of my local supermarket at the weekend. It is an early 2000's model, which has a 1.8 4-cylinder engine producing 122bhp. 0-62mph takes 5.6 seconds and the top speed is 126mph or 203km/h. I bet this car is as much fun as a go-kart!

Lamborghini Aventador SV Roadster 2016

Nearly at 60,000 views and to celebrate, I thought I needed a special car. Thankfully, I came across the perfect one at the weekend whilst walking alongside Deansgate in Manchester, and this special car is the Lamborghini Aventador SuperVeloce Roadster. Looking at the stickers, it looks like it took part in one of the Cannonball rallies. The SV is a hardcore version of the standard Aventador. It has the 6.5 V12 which produces 740bhp! The performances of the car are absolutely ludicrous: 0-62 in only 2.9 seconds (with the 0-124 in 8.8 seconds) and a top speed of 217mph or 350km/h!!! The SV is easily recognisable thanks to its very aggressive look achieved through the extensive use of carbon fiber (from air vents to the massive rear spoiler to the bumpers) What a beast of a car!

Mercedes CLA 45 AMG Shooting brake 2015

Spotted a few weeks ago in the Trafford Centre, this is a Mercedes CLA 45 AMG Shooting brake. I do like the grey paint with the blacked out finish. Looks very stealthy! The CLA 45 has a 2.0-litre four-cylinder twin-scroll turbocharged engine which produces 355bhp (it has been upped to 375bhp in 2016) so 0-62mph takes 4.7 seconds and as usual, the top speed is electronically limited to 155mph or 250km/h.

Porsche 911 Carrera 4S Convertible 2016

A really nice Porsche 911 Carrera 4S convertible today, spotted in Wilmslow a few weeks ago. The 4S has a 3.0 straight-6 engine which produces 420bhp. The top speed is 188mph or 303km/h for the manual version (187mph or 301km/h for the PDK automatic). 0-62 takes 4.4 seconds (4.2 for the PDK). One of the rare convertible I would buy as I think it looks fantastic!

Audi R8 V8 2008

Nothing too crazy today as I'm on holiday, but still a car that I really like despite the fact that it is nearly 10 years old now: the Audi R8. I found this one in Wilmslow a few weeks ago. It is the 4.2 V8 model with 420bhp. Performances are as follow: 0-62mph in 4.6 seconds and top speed of 187mph or 300km/h.

Ferrari 458 Speciale Mr JWW 2015

I called in at Ferrari Manchester a couple of weeks ago and as I arrived I recognised the car parked outside the Stratstone dealership: Mr JWW's F12. In case you don't know who Mr JWW is, he is one of the car "Youtubers" who, alongside others such as Tim (Shmee 150), Paul (Supercars of London) and Sam (Seen through Glass), creates car videos on a nearly daily basis, from what it's like to live with a supercar, to attending car events and new releases, to taking part in car challenges... Having only watched some of his most recent videos, I had never realised that Ferrari Manchester is where he gets his Ferraris from. That prompted me to check what other Ferraris he had from the Wilmslow dealer and that's when I found out he took delivery of a 458 Speciale towards the end of 2015 which he sold since. And that reminded me of pictures I took from a Speciale earlier on this year. Comparing these pictures to videos of his Speciale, I reckon it was the same car. So here they are.

The "F12 JWW"

I must admit, He did a good job with the spec of the car and that Grigio Silverstone paint combined with the Nero and Argento Nürburgring stripes, works really well on the car, better than the standard Rosso Corsa in my mind.
As far as performances go and as mentioned in a previous post about the Speciale, the 597bhp 4.5 V8 engine takes the car from 0-62 in 3 seconds and to a top speed of 202mph or 325km/h.

And if you want to know more about Mr JWW and his Speciale:

Ferrari 458 Speciale Aperta 2015

In Bentley Manchester (well Knutsford really) again for today's post with a rare Ferrari 458 Speciale Aperta. Only 499 were produced hense the rarity factor! Aperta means opened so you will have worked out that this is the convertible version of the 458 Speciale. So what makes the "Speciale" so special? The 4.5 V8 has been boosted up to 597bhp compared to 562bhp in the standard 458, 0-62mph drops from 3.4 to 3.0 seconds and the top speed remains at 199mph or 320km/h.

Ford Mustang 5.0 2016

I spotted this car at the Trafford Centre about a week ago. We have started to see more of these around: the brand new Ford Mustang. Why? Well probably because it is the first Mustang to cater for the right-hand drive market! This one is powered by their 5.0 V8 engine with 415bhp. 0-62 in 4.8 seconds and a top speed limited to 155mph or 255km/h.
Like with most generations of Mustangs, I still love the front and the side but hate the back of it...

Porsche Cayman GT4 2015

Very unusual colour for this rather rare Porsche Cayman GT4. Only a few hundred of these were produced, the reason being simple, you are looking at a 911 Carrera S disguised as a Cayman! Porsche have indeed fitted the 3.8 flat 6 from the Carrera S into this GT4 as well as a few extra goodies from the 911 GT3 (brakes, Active Suspension Management...). The GT4 also sits lower than a standard Cayman, it comes exclusively with a manual gearbox, has a limited slip-differential, vented front bumper, fixed rear wing... so quite a racing machine. As far as power is concerned, the 3,8 flat 6 produces 385bhp, with 0-62 taking around 4.3 seconds and a top speed of 183mph or 295km/h.

Aston Martin V8 Vantage Volante 1989

Produced in the same year as the Porsche Speedster from my previous post, this is a 1989 Aston Martin V8 Vantage Volante. I spotted the car in Knutsford during my tour of the dealerships a couple of days ago. Even if I am not mad about the colour, this car looks amazing and rather sporty with its agressive front end and wide wheel-arches. The V8 Vantage Volante is quite a rare car as only 192 were ever produced between 1986 and 1989. Under the bonnet, there is a 5.3 V8 engine which produces 370bhp. 0-62 takes 5.8 seconds with a top speed of 155mph (250km/h). Some V8 Vantage Volante were also released as X-pack which had increased performance (402bhp, 0-62 in 5.3 seconds and top speed of 159mph or 256km/h) but I cannot tell you if this model was one of them.
