Jaguar XJ-R Supersport 2012

After about 10 days of silence, new post today. Spotted in Chester a few weeks ago, this is a Jaguar XJ in its sporty "R" version. The "R" badge gives the Jag a 5.0 supercharged V8 engine with 510bhp. It takes the XJ 4.9 seconds to reach 62mph from 0 and it has a electronically limited top speed of 155mph or 250km/h.

Alfa Romeo JTS Matt Grey

After over a week without a post, here I am, I haven't abandoned you all, just mad busy at the moment. So today, an Italian, the Alfa Romeo Spider JTS convertible. With a 2.2l 4-cylinder engine and 185bhp, the coupe can reach 62mph in 8.8 seconds and a top speed of 139mph or 224km/h.

I took the pictures because I particularly like the colour scheme on this Alfa, matt grey and black wheels! Told you matt paint was in fashion!

Noble M12 GTO

 

 

Still slow progress at the moment on the blog, but I don't miss any opportunity for a nice snap, particularly when I come across cars I don't see often and I haven't yet on the blog. Today, a Noble M12 GTO spotted at the Swan with Two Nicks pub near Lymm. Noble is a small British sports car manufacturer, one of the rare British-owned automotive company! The M12 GTO comes with different engines, and I don't know which one powers this particular one. We are potentially looking at a 3.0 V6 bi-turbo with 352bhp. it only takes 3.7 seconds for the M12 GTO to reach 62mph and  the top speed is 185mph or 298km/h. Nice little sports car!

Vauxhall VXR8 2009

 

Hi everybody! Sorry about my lack of new posts this week, but I have been very busy, so the blog fell a bit behind.

Today, we have a Vauxhall VXR8 spotted in Manchester about 2 weeks ago. The VXR8 is Vauxhall's Muscle car. It has a 6.2 V8 engine with 430bhp. 0-62 in 4.9 seconds and top speed of 155mph (250km/h) limited. I know that if you follow the blog properly, you should be telling me: "We have already seen this very car previously!" Yes you have, but my previous post (28-04-13) had the front of the car cut off as it was parked very close to a wall. This time, I am treating you to the full picture! Enjoy!

Porsche 911 Carrera 2012

 

Very retro today, this Porsche 911 Carrera in a solid blue. This 911 has a 3.4 straight-6 engine with 350bhp. 0-62 is covered in just 4.8 seconds and the top speed is 179mph (288km/h).

Well spotted, it is a Bentley Continental GTC parked next to the Porsche!

Maserati GranCabrio 2010

 

Not amazing pictures today as they were taken through the windscreen on the way back from Manchester. We have here a Maserati GranCabrio in white. It has a 4.7 V8 engine with 440bhp. 5,2 seconds for the GranCabrio to reach 62mph and 176mph (283km/h) top speed. The Maserati is beautiful (even if I still prefer the coupe) and could even tempt me away from an Aston Martin.

Megane RS 2010

 

A grey Renault Megane RS today, seen at the Trafford Centre on the car park. The Megane RS is a 2.0 turbocharged coupe with 250bhp. 0-62 takes the RS 6.1 seconds and the top speed is 156mph (251km/h)

BMW 135i M 2013

 

 

A little "hot hatch" today, the BMW 135i M. There isn't a M1 as such (well there is but we are talking about the iconic M1 from the late 70's early 80's!) so the sportiest you can get on the 1-series is the 135 M. It has a straight-6, 3.0l engine which develops 320bhp!!! 0-62 takes 4.9 seconds and top speed is as usual limited to 155mph (250km/h). It sounds like a successful recipe for a great drive, and Top Gear seem to agree as they concluded their review of the 135i M saying the BMW is "light and sharp and involving and makes you go "Mmmmm." "

Lexus IS-F 2011

 

 

 

Seen At the Trafford Centre yesterday (just between 2 showers!) a Lexus IS-F. The F-version is the beefed-up IS with a 5.0 V8 which develops 417bhp, reaches 62mph in just 4.8 seconds and a top speed of 168mph or 270km/h!

Just waiting to spot a Lexus LFA now...!



Mclaren MP4-12C

I took today's picture on Deansgate - Manchester. This is a McLaren MP4-12C in bright orange! Epitome of British engineering, the Mclaren has a 3.8 twin-turbo V8 with 592bhp. 0-62 takes the MP4 only 3.2 seconds and the top speed is 207mph or 333km/h.

Audi S4 Quattro Cabriolet 2004

 

 

Spotted in the Northern Quarter in Manchester, outside the Beermoth shop (great selection of worldwide beers and very helpful staff by-the-way!!!) and Audi S4 Convertible from 2004. The S4 has a 4.2 V8 engine with 344bhp. 0-62 is covered in 5.9 seconds and the top speed is 155mph or 250km/h. Still looking good for a 10 year old car!

BMW 535d M

 

 

Nice M pack on this BMW 535d today, seen in Manchester at the weekend. The 535 had a 3.0 straight-6 diesel engine which develops nearly 300bhp. That means 0-62 in only 5.7 seconds and a top speed -as usual electronically limited- of 155mph (250km/h)

I have never been a big fan of the previous 5-series but this one is very tempting! 

Ferrari 512BB 1970's

Seen this afternoon at the petrol station in Lymm, it is quite a rare car to see on the roads, a Ferrari 512BB from the late 1970's. I spotted it as I arrived at the petrol station and just had time for a snap from the rear before the owner left. The second picture was taken as he pulled away, while listening to the sound of the 4.9 straight 12-cylinder engine and its 360 horses! It isn't a Ferrari I have ever seen before and I had to search the web a bit to find the right one. Performance-wise, the 512BB is capable of competing with any modern supercar (well on paper at least!) with a 0 to 62 taking 5.5 seconds and best of all, a top speed of 187mph (302km/h)!!! Just over 900 of these were ever made, and as it isn't red or yellow, I like it even more!!!

Ford Capri 1987

 

Today, an old classic, the Ford Capri, in its Turbo version. Under the bonnet we have a 2.8 V6 Turbo with 188bhp. The Turbo has a top speed of 137mph (220km/h) and can reach 62mph in just 8 seconds. This particular one was spotted on the car park of the Tatton show, AGAIN!!! (told you I took about 300 pictures of cars that day!!! ;-) )

Ginetta G34 1997

Back in Tatton tonight with this 1997 Ginetta G34. It has a 2.0 inline 4-cylinder engine which develops around 187bhp. 0-62 takes around 5.4 seconds and the top speed is about 153mph or 246km/h.

Ferrari 458 Grey 2013

Even in the farmers drive Ferraris around Cheshire, here a 458 from 2013. Spend your day at work and at the end of it, hop out of your tractor straight into your Ferrari!!! 4.5l V8 engine with 570bhp, 0-62 in 3.4 seconds and 202mph (325km/h) top speed, and that's just for the tractor!!!

Audi S4 Blue 2006

Parked at the Trafford Centre, this 4.2 V8 344bhp Audi S4 in blue! 5.8 seconds to reach 62mph and top speed, as usual electronically limited to 155mph or 250km/h.

Range Rover Sport V8 Cosworth 2005

 

After showing you Overfinch, after Kahn, it is the turn to show you Cosworth's take on the ever so popular Range Rover Sport. Striking paint job in black and white and as usual, mainly cosmetic changes, not much done to the 4.2l, 385bhp, V8 engine. This isn't really to my taste but again, there are so many 'standard' Range Rovers around that people are prepared to add a few extra thousands of pounds to get theirs noticed...

BMW M5 2012

 

Another BMW M5 in Manchester, black this time. Still with the new engine: a 552bhp, 4.4l twin-turbo V8. As far as performance is concerned, 0-62 takes 4.4 seconds and the top speed is limited at 155mph (250km/h), but again, you have the option of purchasing the "M Driver's Package" which will override the limiter to take you to 190mph (305km/h).

Porsche Boxster 2012

 

New edition of the 'Baby' Porsche, the Boxster! 3.4 flat-6 engine with 315bhp, 0-62 takes 5 seconds and the top speed is 172mph (277km/h)

Like the colour scheme of this particular one!

Volkswagen Golf GTi 2012

 

Seen in Manchester on the Cathedral car park, this dark grey icon, the Volkswagen Golf GTi. With a 2.0l Turbo 4-cylinder engine and 210bhp, the GTi covers 0-62 in 6.9 seconds and reach a top speed of 149mph or 235km/h

Ford Focus RS 2009

 

Parked in Old Trafford, the Ford Focus RS with a 2.5l  straight 5-cylinder, 305bhp, 0-62 in 5.9 seconds and top speed of 163mph or 262km/h.

Chevrolet Camaro V8 2013

 

Still in Old Trafford tonight, with one of United's sponsors, Chevrolet. This particular one is a brand new Camaro V8 Convertible in white with red stripes! 6.2 V8 engine and 405bhp!!! 5.4 seconds to complete 0=62 and a limited top speed of 155mph (250km/h)

Audi R8 V8 2007

 

Picture taken on the car park at Old Trafford before the match Manchester United - Liverpool. This is an Audi R8 V8 with an unusual matte black roof. As usual with the V8, we have a 4.2l engine with 420bhp. It can reach 62mph in 4.6 seconds and a top speed of 187mph (300km/h).

Volkswagen Phaeton 3.0 TDi 2011

Here is the big Volkswagen Phaeton. This is a great looking executive car which is, I believe, very under-rated. It is a very well equipped, quality car, which is indeed rather expensive. The VW badge on that type of car struggles to compete with its German cousins Mercedes S-class, BMW 7-series and Audi A8! That is why you don't see many of them around. This particular one has a "small" diesel engine - 3.0 V6 TDi with 237bhp- but if you need more power, you can still opt for the W12 version with 444bhp! With the V6 diesel power plant, you will reach 62mph in 8.3 seconds and a top speed of 147mph or 237km/h.

Porsche Cayenne Diesel

 

Another Porsche Cayenne spotted in Knutsford, diesel this time. 3.0 V6 TDI producing 240bhp, 0-62 in 7.8 seconds and top speed of 135mph (217km/h)

Mercedes CL500

 

We had the older model a few days ago, now a more recent 2007 Mercedes CL500. 5.5 V8, 388bhp, 0-62 in 5.5 seconds and top speed of 155mph (250km/h), not bad for such a big coupe (well a 3-door S-class really!!!)
